A Lost Soul
My Brother in Beats
DJ Wiz Erd – Artist Bio, Remembering a Titan
My musical journey began in the era of real turntables, crates of vinyl, late nights, and DJs who had to build a sound with their hands, their ears, and their instincts. Long before music became software and playlists, the inspiration came from watching my oldest brother, DJ Blur, work real turntables and mix R&B and Hip Hop records like a professional — scratching, blending, beat-matching, and reading the room like a musician reads sheet music.
DJ Blur wasn’t just playing songs — he was building experiences. With a deep cache of records and a willingness to experiment, DJ Blur would mix tracks people didn’t expect, blending sounds and pushing the musical envelope. That spirit of experimentation and genre-blending became the foundation for what would eventually become my musical identity.
Music for me was never about staying in one lane. It was about rhythm, emotion, storytelling, and trying things that might not work — until they did.
DJ Blur passed away on my youngest son’s birthday, just one month before the age of 51. That moment forever connected music, memory, family, loss, and legacy. Music stopped being just entertainment and became something deeper — something that preserves moments, people, and feelings in a way nothing else can.
Today, I continue creating music in that same spirit:
fearless, genre-blending, experimental, emotional, and constantly evolving.
The tools have changed. Turntables became computers. Records became digital files. Studios became software. And now songwriting is being transformed again through AI music production.
But the heart of it hasn’t changed.
I write songs first — stories, hooks, ideas, melodies — and then uses modern tools and AI production to bring those songs to life across many different genres and styles.
Over time, I've written over 400 songs across genres including:
Rock, Reggae, Country, Hip Hop, Electronic, Dancehall, Blues, Pop, Experimental, Instrumental, Story songs. Album concepts.
Rather than releasing everything at once, I'm slowly organizing songs into album projects, each with its own theme, mood, and musical world. Some albums are rock, some are reggae, some are country, some are electronic — because the goal is not to fit into one genre, but to explore all of them.
My philosophy is simple:
Music should not be limited by genre.
Music should not be limited by tools.
Music should not be limited by expectations.
Music should be created everywhere, from everything, for everyone.
This is music inspired by the past, built with the present, and looking toward the future.
This is music made from memory, imagination, technology, and emotion.
This is not just one album or one sound — this is a lifetime catalog being released one project at a time.
Welcome to the world of DJ Wiz Erd.
I hope you enjoy the music.
Kisses, EVERYWHERE.
